Fascial Counterstrain (FCS)

Fascial Counterstrain (FCS)

Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a gentle, skilled passive manipulation technique designed to alleviate areas of trapped inflammation with the goal of relieving chronic pain and dysfunction.  Now available at Performance Pilates in Sugar Land, this advanced technique helps reduce inflammation, relieve pain, improve mobility, flexibility, and support overall function.

FCS evolved from Strain Counterstrain, originally developed in 1955 by Dr. Lawrence Jones. In 1997, physical therapist Brian Tuckey expanded the method into Fascial Counterstrain, allowing for a more comprehensive approach to addressing pain and movement limitations.

We were introduced to Fascial Counterstrain through client and practitioner Kris Dingrah, whose results in reducing pain and improving mobility for our clients stood out immediately. That experience led us to pursue training and bring this work into our studio.

This approach is extremely gentle, making it a strong option for anyone dealing with chronic pain, stiffness, or limited range of motion.

Clients often notice:  improved mobility, better circulation, increased muscle tone, and more comfortable pain-free movement

If you’re in Sugar Land and looking for a different approach to pain relief, Fascial Counterstrain may be a good fit.
