Fascial Counterstrain (FCS)

Fascial Counterstrain (FCS)

Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a gentle, hands-on technique for pain relief and movement restoration. It evolved from Strain Counterstrain (SCS), developed in 1955 by Dr. Lawrence Jones, a Doctor of Osteopathy. In 1997, physical therapist Brian Tuckey, one of only four practitioners certified by Dr. Jones to teach SCS, expanded the method into Fascial Counterstrain. FCS alleviates inflammation, resolves chronic pain and restores mobility.

We were introduced to FCS by client and practitioner Kris Dingrah, whose remarkable results in reducing pain and improving mobility for several of our clients inspired us to pursue training in this method. We are now proud to offer Fascial Counterstrain services at Performance Pilates! Results include improved mobility, circulation, muscle tone, and pain-free function. It’s an incredibly gentle yet powerful technique suitable for anyone experiencing pain, stiffness, or limited range of motion.
